The TAPoR (Text Analysis Portal for Research) project is based at McMaster University, and consists of a network of six of the leading Humanities computing centres in Canada: McMaster, University of Victoria (in collaboration with Malaspina UC), University of Alberta, University of Toronto, Université de Montreal (law) and University of New Brunswick.

TAPoR has developed a web portal where researchers can experiment with text analysis tools. Researchers can either use the tools without an account through the TAPoR Tools interface or they can get an account where they can define texts they want to operate on and create a list of favorite tools.

The tools on TAPoR are web services that are not on the TAPoR server. The portal acts as a broker for tools as web services hiding them from the user and providing a common interface.
