State Highway 96 or SH 96 (now renamed to League City Parkway) is a state highway that runs 6 miles between Interstate 45 and SH 146 in Galveston County. This highway runs between Kemah and League City. It runs past what used to be the Houston Gulf Airport.
[edit] Previous routes
SH 96 was previously designated by 1933 on a route from Corpus Christi to Harlingen, mainly along the Gulf Coast. By 1939, the routed was truncated to start in Sinton, with an already constructed section between Corpus Christi and Chapman Ranch transferred to SH 286. The remaining route was redesignated as U.S. Route 77 in 1943 when it was extended south.
