[edit] Previous routes

SH 377 has been previously used twice. It was first designated in 1940 as a short connector route between SH 78 north of Bailey and SH 34 to the southeast of Gober. This route was redesignated as FM 68 in 1942. A second usage of SH 337 was in 1955, when it was cosigned, but not designated, with FM 1077 from the town of Plains southwest to the New Mexoci border, where the route became New Mexico State Road 337. This usage was removed in 1963, when US 82 was extended from Lubbock west to Las Cruces.
