State Highway 227 or SH 227 was a Texas state highway that has been designated and decommissioned twice. The first route was designated by 1939 on a route from Marathon to Big Bend National Park. This route was redesignated as SH 51 in 1956 when it was extended further south. The second designation was in 1987 as a redesignation of SH 288 when it was rerouted around Angleton and Lake Jackson. This route was redesignated in 1991 as SH 288 Business
