Texas Flood (song)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Texas Flood" is the third track on Stevie Ray Vaughan's debut album Texas Flood. It is a blues song written in compound time and is one of his most well known tracks. Texas Flood has three verses of lyrics but the song is arguably more of a prolonged guitar solo, allowing Vaughan to show off his characteristic electric blues style.
During live shows, he would often play portions of this song behind his back, arousing an enthusiastic crowd response.
This song is featured on the PlayStation 2 music game Guitar Hero.
It was originally performed by Larry Davis, with songwriting credit going to Larry Davis and Joseph Wade Scott.
Website DigitalDreamDoor named 'Texas Flood' as its sixth greatest guitar solo of all time.
