Details about SH 550

"From junction with US 80 at west city limits of Ft. Worth, thence eastward through Ft. Worth and Dallas to connection with US 67 and US 80 near east city limits of Dallas."

This seems to be present I-30 from US 377 (the city limits were probably there) to the curve in I-30 east of Jim Miller Road (where the freeway once connected to Samuell Boulevard). This 1954 map shows the old city limits and alignments.

"From a junction with SH 183, west of the City of Fort Worth, via a junction with US 80 at the west city limits of Fort Worth; thence eastward through Fort Worth and Dallas to a connection with US 67 and US near the east city limits of Dallas."

Changed to end at SH 183.

"From White Settlement Rd, southward and eastward through Fort Worth and Dallas to a connection with US 67 and US 80 near east city limits of Dallas."

Spur 341 added.

"From US 80 in the vicinity of Mary's Creek through Fort Worth and Dallas to a connection with US 67 and US 80 near the east city limit of Dallas, with a connection to White Settlement Rd in White Settlement."

Spur 341 made a spur and the main line extended along present I-30 to Spur 580.

"From US 80 in the vicinity of Mary’s Creek, through Fort Worth and Dallas to a connection with US 67 and US 80 near the east city limits of Dallas, with a connection to the entrance of the Convair Assembly Plant."

Extended north on the rest of Spur 341.

"From US 80 in the vicinity of Mary's Creek, into Fort Worth to a connection with the Dallas/Fort Worth Turnpike, with a spur connection to the entrance of the Convair Assembly Plant."

Removed west of downtown Fort Worth - presumably the part east of downtown Dallas had become US 67/US 80. The rest became I-20 and Spur 341 soon after.
