Tete

Tete is the capital city of Tete Province in Mozambique. It has a population of 104,832 (1997 census). It is located on the Zambezi River, and is the site of one of the five bridges to cross it. An important Swahili trade centre before the colonial era, Tete is now home to an airport.
Tete is also terminus of a branch of the Mozambiquean Railways.
