Madame Tessy de Nassau (b. 28 October 1985, née Antony) is the wife of Prince Louis of Luxembourg, son of the reigning Grand Duke. Prior to her pregnancy and marriage, Tessy was a former NCO in the Luxembourg army.
Tessy is the daughter of a tiler. After being a pupil in a technical high school in Pétange (south of Luxembourg), Tessy Antony joined the Luxembourg army when she was 18. In March, she took part in a mission in Yugoslavia, in Mitrovica within KFOR, the NATO peacekeeping force in Kosovo. She met Louis during a visit of the Prince to the troops.
On 12 March 2006, Tessy gave birth to a boy, christened Gabriel Michael Louis Ronny de Nassau. The baby is the first grandchild for Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa.
Louis and Tessy were married on 29 September 2006 at the parish church in Gilsdorf, where their son was christened. Upon his marriage, Louis gave up his succession rights and those of Gabriel, and any of the couple's future children, although Louis retains his title of Prince of Luxembourg and the style of Royal Highness while Tessy and Gabriel (and any of the couple's future children) hold the surname de Nassau with no titles. [1] The family live in Switzerland, where the Prince is studying.
