[edit] Early Life

Tess was born on Drovers Run. She is the daughter of Jack McLeod and his second wife, Ruth Silverman and sister to Claire. When she was five years old she and her mother went to Sydney because her mother couldn't live on Drovers Run, leaving behind Jack and eight year old Claire. When Ruth later died, Tess lived in a small apartment and worked in a small cafe.

[edit] Season One

After she learned that her father died and she would own half of Drovers Run, she wanted to sell it and open a cafe which was her greatest wish since she was a child. She went to Drovers Run where she saw her older half-sister Claire again. But when she told Claire that she want to sell her part of the property, Claire told Tess that this would be the end for her and her employees Meg and Jodi Fountain.

Tess thought about it some days and decided to stay there and help Claire to rebuild Drovers Run. She had to learn how to ride and how to lead a farm in a world where the men always are owners of farms and women hadn't to say anything.

She had a brief affair with Alex Ryan, a neighbour and son to Harry Ryan and brother to Nick.

[edit] Season Two

Tess invites her two best friends to Drovers Run. There they offer her a job in their new cafe. Tess agrees, because she had heard that Peter and Claire would be married, so she felt like a third wheel in the relationship. She didn't know that Claire stopped the plans, because Peter was already married and had a family. Claire didn't tell her sister anything about her problems. She wanted to let her live her dream. Tess eventually returned as she had read a mail from Jodi to come back. Claire wasn't happy about her situation and was the whole time in her room and didn't came out even for dinner.

Tess realised that one of her friends had lied to her, saying all the time that there weren't any messages from Drovers. In fact, he had erased all the mails to keep Tess in the city. He feared that when she would return to Drovers, the cafe had to be closed.

Tess helped Claire to get over Peter and they managed it to help Claire's new horse, Phoenix, the daughter of Blaze.

Tess falls for Nick and they almost get together until Liz (Nick and Alex's interfering mother)steps in and advises Tess not to get involved with Nick as Liz feels Tess is not good enough for Nick. Nick feels rejected by Tess and he moves on. Tess is hurting over Nick and angry he moved on so quickly.

Tess also supported Claire when she found out she was pregnant and that Australian Bloodlines threatened to take Drovers (Which was Peter's fault because he did not pass on Claire's resignation letter after she resigned.) Tess also took charge by confronting Peter and demanding Claire's letter back. She also took charge od Drovers when Claire was in hospital injured from a riding accident.

[edit] Season three

Tess is still in love with Nick. But Nick is living with Sally, his girlfriend. Then she meets local vet, Dave Brewer. He pursues her and they soon get engaged and plan their wedding. Tess also plays devil's advocate when get comes to the 'father' of Claire's baby until the truth comes out. Tess also helps deliver Claire's baby Charlotte Prudence McLeod aka BOM. Tess then feares that she could have cancer and suffer her mother's fate. She writes many letters to the new born Charlotte because she feares that she hasn't much time left for her niece. She breaks off the engagement to Dave because he's unable to support her through her illness. It reminds him of his wife's death and this makes Tess realize he never got over her.

She soon found out from a specialist that she did not have cancer. She, Charlotte and Claire went to the city to buy things for a party to celebrate. But on their way back, they had a car accident when Claire died and she was left without a sister.

[edit] Season Four

At the beginning of the forth season Claire died in a car accident. Tess and Charlotte were also in the car but managed it to escape before the car crashed down the cliff. Tess and Claire shared a few moments before Claire died. Tess gave herself the fault and got depressed. Claire appeared to her as a ghost and said to Tess that she should let Claire go and go on with her life. In this very difficult chapter of her life Nick was there for her every time she needed him. Tess was finally able to let go of her sister and dedicated herself to running Drovers and raising Charlotte.

In the middle of the season, Charlotte's first birthday was upstaged by Peter returning and seeking custody of Charlotte. Tess (seeing Charlotte as the last link to her sister and the only family she has left) is hesitant to give her up. Tess, although declearing that she would never stop Peter from seeing Charlotte feels that Peter has no right to ask for custody after everything he did to Claire. Tess decides to keep the peace by inviting Peter and his daughters, Alana and Natalie to the party. During the party Charlotte bonds with her new family, seeing this Tess realises that her chances of keeping custody of Charlotte is not good. Alex also doesn't want to lose Charlotte and believes he is a much better father to Charlotte than Peter. Alex has also never forgiven Peter after what he did to Claire. Alex and Peter fight during Charlotte's birthday party. Haunted by memories of her parents' divorce and being separated from Claire as a child, Tess allows Peter to take Charlotte so she can grow up with her father and her sisters. Charlotte makes occasional appearances when she visits Tess.

Tess also realises her love for Nick. They finally got together and eventually got married.

[edit] Season Five

In this season Tess and Nick begin their married life. They decide children are the next step, even using Charlotte as practise when she comes to visit. They are about to plan on expanding their family when Sally appears some months later carrying Nick's child. This was during Nick's previous relationship before he and Tess got back together. Sally later gives birth to a son named Harrison Nicholas Ryan, This drives a wedge between Nick and Tess. But eventually Sally goes back to the city with Harrison and Nick chooses to stay with Tess, as well as visit his son.

[edit] Season Six

Tess went with Nick to Argentina and came after six months back to Drovers Run for a visit. Feeling sick, she went to the hospital because she feared that she could have malaria. But she found out she was pregnant. Tess wanted to tell this news to Nick but he doesn't answer her. After some days Tess was told that Nick had died in a plane accident.

Eight weeks later Tess gets a phone call from Nick. He is alive. It turns out that he was robbed and left in a coma while his attacker took his place on the plane. Nick is safely reunited with Tess on Drovers but is anxious to return to Argentina to continue his work, leaving Tess to choose between Drovers and Argentina. Tess chooses to go back to Argentina with her one true love Nick declaring that Drovers will be a part of her forever where ever she goes. Some time later while in Argentina, Tess gives birth to a baby girl named Claire Ruth Ryan.
