[edit] My RFA
Hi, this is Matt Yeager. I wanted to thank you for your vote on my request for adminship. The count was something like was 14/20/5 when I decided to withdraw the request. My decision was based on the fact that there are enough things wasting people's time on the Internet that doomed RFA's shouldn't be kept up for voters to have to think about. Regardless of the rationale behind your vote, I hope you will read this note for an extended note and discussion on what will happen before I make another try at adminship (I didn't want to clog up your userpage with drivel that you might not be interested in reading). Thank you very, very much for your vote and your time and consideration of my credentials--regardless of whether you voted support, nuetral, or oppose. Happy editing! [edit] Finalists Chosen
Terence/Archive 5, I'm here to let you know that the five finalists for the Esperanza User Page Award have been chosen. Please assign these five finalists 1-10 points in four categories:
- Attractiveness: general layout, considering colour scheme and/or use of tables if applicable
- Usefulness: links to subpages or editing aids, helpful information
- Interesting-ness: quirky, unique, captivating, or funny content
- General niceness: at the judges' discretion
Please see the Scores section on this page for additional information on your job as a judge.
Keep in mind that your scores are a secret! Email Rune.welsh with your scores and final picks. Please contact him for information on how to email him. As soon as all the scores have been tallied, a winner will be announced! Thanks. (^'-')^ Covington 14:15, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #3

The Administrator Coaching program is a program aimed at preparing Wikipedians for Adminship or helping them understand the intricacies of Wikipedia better. Recently, changes have been made to the requirements of coachees. Please review them before requesting this service.
- This would be something like the Welcoming Committee, but for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. Some might like suggestions about how to learn vandal patrol, or mentoring on taking an article to featured status, or guidance with a proposal they plan to make at the Village Pump, for example. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

[edit] Warn vandals
Please warn vandals after you have reverted their changes. There are three good reasons why you have to:
- The vandal may be a newbie who knows nothing about the sandbox. It is your duty to tell him, otherwise he will not know where to experiment in.
- Admins checking the admin intervention against vandalism page make it a strict point not to block any vandal unless they have been given the full range of test templates from {{test1}} (or {{bv}}) to {{test4}}. Not warning a blatant serial vandal will let him get away without being blocked for one more edit.
- You will increase your edit count by at least 2 (not just 1) for every anti-vandalism revert you make.
That said, enjoy your vandal-fighting. :-) Kimchi.sg 10:52, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Curiosity about your reversion of my User Page

Thanks so much for voting!
Thanks so much for voting on my request for adminship. I have decided to withdraw my nomination as it seems that consensus will not be reached. If you voted in support, thanks for putting your trust in me to be a good admin. If you voted in opposition, thank you as well for your constructive criticism as it will only help me be a better Wikipedian and perhaps help if/when I apply for adminship again sometime in the future. |

[edit] Signing up
Thanks for your request for me to sign up. However, through experience, I have found that signing up means being subjected to abuse, including racist abuse, that administrators refuse to deal with. Also, using an IP address means anonymity. In the past, some of my well-sourced contributions have been systematically reverted by anonymous IP users, but the 3RR law means I cannot do a lot about it. So, if you can't beat them, join them.--88.110.34.216 17:47, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

This arbitration case is closed.
Monicasdude is placed on standard civility parole for one year. If he makes any edits which are judged by an administrator to be uncivil, personal attacks, or assumptions of bad faith, then he may be blocked for a short time of up to one week for repeat offenses. Monicasdude is banned from making edits related to the deletion process (excepting obvious vandalism and copyright problems) for one year. This is to be interpreted broadly, and includes, but is not limited to, commenting on articles for deletion nominations and removals of nominations for proposed deletion and speedy deletion. He may be blocked for a short time of up to one week for repeat offenses. After 5 such blocks, the maximum block time is increased to a year.
Should Monicasdude violate any ban imposed by this decision he may be briefly blocked, up to a week for repeat offenses. After 5 such blocks, the maximum block time is increased to a year. All blocks to be logged at Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration/Monicasdude#Log_of_blocks_and_bans.
