Terry Hooper

Terry Hooper [aka:Terry Hooper-Scharf]. Born in June 1957,in Bristol,UK and educated both in Germany and England. Noted in a lengthy interview by Phil Latter for SBC web zine that he began reading and drawing comics when around 6-7 years old –drawing mainly in old receipt or note books.
Started publishing the news,reviews,previews and interviews magazine Zine Zone,as well as a mail order service for the Small Press and later included independent US publishers. Zine Zone ran from 1984-1995. This was later succeeded by Comic Bits. From 1984-2004 he published Black Tower Adventure,his main title. Others included Dervish Ropey and the Maximin Sword,Hanwell’s Garage,Windows,Presents and the new talent comic that launched a number of careers,BT Previews.
Terry also drew for London Editions’ Centurions,Loaded and other publications in the UK and overseas. In 1990 he wrote,and the late Art Wetherell drew,the best selling erotic comic,Two Hot Girls On A Hot Summer’s Night –several reprints of the comic series led to multiple reprints of the graphic novel. The book is said to be one of the most pirated erotic comics having editions in at least six languages and a legal printing in Spain. Initially a trilogy,only one other part was published –Maeve:One Girl Four Women,drawn by David Gordon. The story ending has yet to be told.
Terry also wrote for Fleetway on titles such as Revolver and Marvel UK on GI JOE.
Having spent a few yearsrecuperating from ill health,Terry has acted as a consultant on Chinese and Indian comics and is set to relaunch his Black Tower line in late 2007.
