Teresa Moreno (d.1812) is a fictional character in the novels of Bernard Cornwell. She is a Spanish partisan and first wife of Richard Sharpe.
Teresa Moreno is the daughter of wealthy Spanish border landowner and one time partisan Cesar Moreno. She first appears in Sharpe's Rifles, in the aftermath of a French attack on her village of Castajada, in which her brother Ramon is tortured and she herself raped. This along with her mother's rape and murder leads her to become a partisan nicknamed "La Aguja" ("The Needle").
When first introduced, she is engaged to another partisan, "El Catolico", but soon falls in love with Sharpe. She and Sharpe have a child, Antonia, and get married. Sharpe's bitter enemy, Sergeant Hakeswill, becomes obsessed with Teresa. At Christmas 1812, she is involved in the Battle of Adrados, leading Spanish light infantry to the valley. Hakeswill takes advantage of the confusion of battle to escape from his captors to the French, during which he kills her. Sharpe is distraught by her death. Their daughter is adopted by Ramon Moreno and his wife.
In the TV adaptations, she was portrayed by Assumpta Serna.
