Tera Melos is an American instrumental math rock band. They play a brand of music characterized by quick multiple finger-taps on the guitar, shifting odd time signatures, start-stop dynamics, and numerous effects.
They are currently a three-piece, (formerly four) consisting of guitar, bass and drums. In early 2006, Tera Melos went on tour with The Fall of Troy, Portugal. The Man, and Damiera. Their style is heavily influenced by jazz, post-hardcore, ambient, and electronic music. Two of the members met in a jazz improvisation class in high school. [1]
The band is often compared to the likes of Don Caballero, Hella, and Volta Do Mar.
