[edit] Name
Why isn't this "tert-butanol", with the article name at "Tert-butanol"? Gene Nygaard 18:50, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- For names of chemical compounds, prefixes are not considered part of the name when it comes to things like capitalization, alphabetization, etc. See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Chemicals/Style_guidelines#Capitalization. --Ed (Edgar181) 18:57, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

- So what? Besides, if what you say is true, this article should be indexed under "Butanol", and it isn't. Gene Nygaard 20:46, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- You're right, it should be, so I fixed it. 00:18, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

- Now, if you look at the categories in which this article is found, you'll find a couple of dozen more in need of fixing. Gene Nygaard 14:29, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

According to the CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics 86th edition, the density of tert-butanol is .7887 g/cm^3 at 20 degrees Celsius. The density listed on this page gives it as .8095 which is the same as n-butanol and is inaccurate. Is there a reason for this? Rhick 22:22, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
