The Tepui Tinamou Crypturellus ptaritepui is a type of ground bird found in montane moist forest up from 1,350 to 1,800 m altitude. This species has an estimated global extent of occurrence of 1,000 km². This species is native to Cerros Ptari-tepuí and Sororopán-tepuí in south-east Bolívar, south-east Venezuela.

The Tepui Tinamou is approximately 27 cm in length. The top of its head and rear of neck are rufous brown, darkest on its back, and dusky below with rufous sheen on upper breast. The sides of its head and throat are in grey color. It has an upper mandible black, lower yellow with black tip, and legs in olive color.
