Tensed is a city in Benewah County, Idaho, United States. The population was 126 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 126 people, 58 households, and 36 families residing in the city. The population density was 270.3/km² (695.9/mi²). There were 65 housing units at an average density of 139.4/km² (359.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 80.95% White, 14.29% Native American, 0.79% from other races, and 3.97% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.79% of the population.

There were 58 households out of which 22.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.4% were married couples living together, 3.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.9% were non-families. 36.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 17.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.17 and the average family size was 2.78.

In the city the population was spread out with 20.6% under the age of 18, 2.4% from 18 to 24, 25.4% from 25 to 44, 31.0% from 45 to 64, and 20.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 46 years. For every 100 females there were 110.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 104.1 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $18,750, and the median income for a family was $25,536. Males had a median income of $21,875 versus $29,250 for females. The per capita income for the city was $11,111. There were 27.0% of families and 37.1% of the population living below the poverty line, including 82.1% of under eighteens and 5.9% of those over 64.
