Tench Coxe (born 1957) is an American venture capitalist who serves as a director of a number of small or start-up companies. After graduating from Dartmouth College in 1980, he earned an MBA from the Harvard Business School in 1984 while working as a Wall Street analyst for Lehman Brothers. He entered the direct business world as a product manager Digital Communications Associates, before assuming his current role as Managing Director for Sutter Hill Ventures. For the past five years Forbes magazine has ranked him as one of the top 20 venture capitalists in the United States.[citation needed]
