Ten and a quarter inch gauge
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There are not many railways built at ten and a quarter inch gauge. Railways at this gauge were to start with essentially model railways built by enthusiasts with rolling stock which is just large enough to carry people. However later railways are very much larger and can carry two adults ast side by side.
In the United Kingdom there are:
- Berkeley Light Railway at the Cattle Country Adventure Park, Berkeley, Gloucestershire
- South Downs Light Railway within the Wyevale Garden Centre, Pulborough, West Sussex
- Rudyard Lake Steam Railway near Leek, Staffordshire
[edit] Locomotives
Only once have ten and a quarter inch gauge locomotives been produced and this was by Triang.
[edit] Rolling Stock
In this case this is normally supplied in this form of seaside coaches.

- Viewed thus you could be fooled into thinking it was a standard gauge loco. Include a person in the picture and the illusion disappears. Both pictures from Berkeley Light Railway website.
