Ten (Urusei Yatsura)

Ten (テン, Ten^?) is a character in Rumiko Takahashi's manga and anime series Urusei Yatsura and is Lum's toddler cousin. His nickname is Jariten (ジャリテン, Jariten^?), which means "Bratty Ten". In the anime he is voiced by Kazuko Sugiyama.

Ten is Lum's cousin. He is still a toddler, and is consequently not very good at flying quite yet. He can breathe fire and has a small horn on the back of his head. Ten wears a tiger skin diaper. For some reason, he speaks with a Kansai dialect.

He came to earth to see what kind of person Lum's new fiance Ataru Moroboshi was. But he instantly decides that Ataru is not suitable for Lum, so he moves into the Moroboshi house in order to break them up through various schemes.

Ten constantly fights with Ataru until the end of the series and often breathes fire on him. However, when pretty girls are around, his behavior is remarkably similar to Ataru, although he masks it well in the guise of "I'm just an innocent baby", which shows how much of a child he still is. On the other hand, Ten behaves like a brat towards all of the male students of Tomobiki (especially Ataru), thus earning the nickname "Jariten" from them. His best friend appears to be Kotatsuneko.

Ten is nearly a pyromaniac with his constant fire-breathing, but his mother is a fire fighter who loves her job with a passion and is always traveling. This is the second reason he lives on Earth with Lum, and whenever his mother comes to Earth he holds back on the fire breathing so as to not get in trouble. Ten's mother has given a fire bell to Ataru to summon her with whenever he sees a fire, and Ataru loves to egg Ten on and then ring the bell just as he's about to breathe fire.

He is often used as a flame thrower by others.
