Wikipedia:Template messages/Cleanup

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shortcut:
WP:TC

The following tags should be added to the articles needing cleanup. Unless otherwise noted, they should be placed at the top of the article. Note that the date parameter can be safely left off—it will be added by a robot. Some tags have alternate versions that apply to situations of greater specificity.

Note: Many cleanup templates listed below need their very own minor cleanup. They add tagged pages to a category, unfortunately also lists with examples. To disable this, replace:
...<includeonly>[[Category:etc.]]</includeonly>
with
...<includeonly>{{{category|[[Category:etc.]]}}}</includeonly>.

[edit] Moving to other projects

The following templates should be placed atop articles.

Tag Text that will be shown (and usage notes)
{{Copy to Wiktionary}}
category links talk view
Edit - Copy icon This page is a candidate to be copied to Wiktionary using the Transwiki process.

The information in this article appears to be more suited for a dictionary rather than an encyclopedia. Wikipedia is not a dictionary, but Wiktionary is. Please verify that this article meets the Wiktionary criteria for inclusion and check that Wiktionary does not already have an article on this word or phrase. If this article can be modified to be more than a dictionary entry, please do so and remove this message.

If the page can be expanded into an encyclopedic article, rather than a list of quotes, please do so and remove this message.

{{Copy to Wikisource}}
category links talk view
Edit - Copy icon This page is a candidate to be copied to Wikisource.

If the page can be edited into an encyclopedic article, rather than merely a copy of the source text, please do so and remove this message. Otherwise, you can help by formatting it per the Wikisource guidelines in preparation for being imported to Wikisource by a Wikisource admin. Note that if this source text is not in English, it will have to be copied using the transwiki process.

{{Copy to Wikibooks}}

If the page can be re-written into an encyclopedic article, please do so and remove this message.

Before you move this content to Wikibooks, verify that it conforms to Wikibooks policies of acceptable content at What is Wikibooks?. Often content unacceptable to Wikipedia may not be acceptable on Wikibooks either; facilitate the copying of this article by listing it on Wikibooks:Requests for Import.

{{Copy to Wikibooks Cookbook}}
category links talk view
Edit - Copy icon This page is a candidate to be copied to the Wikibooks Cookbook using the Import process.
If the page can be edited into an encyclopedic article, rather than simply a recipe, please do so and remove this message.
To facilitate the copying of this article, please consider listing it on Wikibooks:Requests for Import, and/or check to see if the cookbook already has a page about this recipe or ingredient.

{{Copy to Wikispecies}}
category links talk view
Edit - Copy icon This page is a candidate to be copied to Wikispecies.

Before moving this content to Wikispecies, please verify that this article meets the Wikispecies criteria for inclusion.
If this page can be re-written into an encyclopedic article, please do so and remove this template.

{{move to gaming wiki}}
category links talk view
Edit - Copy icon This page or section is a candidate to be copied to a gaming wiki.

Articles on video games should not list minutiae or give a detailed description of how to play the game. Such topics should be moved to a gaming wiki, such as StrategyWiki, Encyclopedia Gamia, GamerWiki, or GameInfo.

If the page can be edited into an encyclopedic article, rather than merely a copy of the source text, please do so and remove this message.
