Dr. Teimuraz Kancheli – candidate in Technical Sciences. Member of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Development Gateway Union and Pilot Projects’ Coordinator, President of the Foundation Lana, Short Term Consultant for the World Bank Group and UNDP and Short Term Local Senior Expert for Tacis project. Associated member of the CIMS Consulting Group (www.cims.ge).
Dr. Teimuraz Kancheli graduated from Tbilisi State University’s physics faculty. Before Dr. Teimuraz Kancheli started his career as a Head of Department at the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information he took his scientific degree at Technical Sciences. Then he took position of Scientific Secretary at the biggest University in Georgia – Georgian Technical University. By that time he was the author of 40 scientific publications including 4 patents, three book s – 1. Internet Basics for Beginners (2005). 2. Internet Basics for Advanced Users (2005). 3. Search of Information (1989). In 1991 he established private company which was active in IT sector. From 1993 he worked for Tacis Coordinating Unit and in 1994 was elected as a director of Business Communication Centre (EU project). Then he worked for Belgian-Georgian company Corneel Geerts as Commerce Manager. In 1998 - 1999 he was a local partner for different EU projects. From 1996 he is President of NGO Lana which is active in IT education filed. Since 1998 he worked for the World Bank project CaseByCase Privatization web-site design, and then for Georgia Development Gateway at top management positions. He was hired as Short Term Expert for different projects with the WB, UNDP, Tacis projects. From May 2005 he works as a website specialist with the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies.
