Temagami North, Ontario
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Temagami North is the northernmost part of the town of Temagami, in the Nipissing District, Ontario, Canada.
Temagami North is often referred to as the townsite because it was constructed to serve the Sherman Mine and a new location, away from Temagami, was deemed necessary because of terrain, space and pollution problems. Temagami North is located on the Highway 11.
The area has a lake called Net Lake where people can go fishing and boating. There is a shut down mine called Kanichee Mine that was a copper mine. There are known kimberlite pipes that are considered diamondiferous in Temagami North and Temagami that could lead to future mining.
