Main Page trophy This category is a "template category". It is used to categorise pages which are in the template namespace. The category is part of the Wikipedia project infrastructure and should not be used to categorise pages belonging to other namespaces, in particular project main namespace pages  such as articles. The top level category for this namespace is Category:Wikipedia templates.

Description
This category is for templates used exclusively in tagging categories, without uses in main or template spaces. Hence {{commonscat}} should not be listed as it is also used in main space, but {{Commonscat1R}} and the rest of the autocategorizing templates for interwiki connection of categories should be pages here.

Union

This is a tracking category

A tracking category is intended to build and maintain a list of pages primarily for the sake of the list itself. Rather than being part of the encyclopedia's categorization scheme, these categories are used to track, for example, the use of syntaxes that may be deprecated in the future, to maintain a list of pages that may need to be edited en masse later, or to aggregate the members of several sub-categories by other classifications into one larger list.

Some maintenance lists need to be checked periodically for backlogs, such as Categories for discussion notices and other XfD administrative tracking categories.

This category is for templates used exclusively in tagging categories, without uses in main or template spaces.
This is a category used to track and group 'tools templates' (utility templates, not administrative) which have their primary use in categories.
