Tell Me Why, is a hip-hop genre song from Will Smith's 2005 album 'Lost & Found'. The song features grammy winning R&B singer Mary J Blige. It focuses primarily on the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, but then goes on to focus on other ills in society such as the Catholic Priest sexual abuse Scandal. It also mentions the deaths of many black heroes including Martin Luther King Jr. The has only one curse word, which is bleeped out. Its positive lyrics include;

   "Mmmmm, souls are captured/Dreams are stolen, hearts are broken/Evil blatantly rewarded/Hate surrenders, Love exalted/Hope elated, negativity is shorted"
   "Please what am I supposed to say to my kids when they say 'Why?'"


Originaly, this track was to be Will's second single but producers were already working with a different track from the album.
