Telgárt (1948-1990 Švermovo) is a village and municipality in Brezno District, in the Banská Bystrica Region of central Slovakia.

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1326[1]/1549. [2]

The village lies at an altitude of 881 metres and covers an area of 55.974km². It has population of about 1531 people. Hron river rises in the cadastral area of the village, under Kráľova hoľa hill.
