Teletraan I is the name of the Autobots' computer on board the Ark.
[edit] Animated Series
Teletraan I provided a tremendous amount of intelligence and capability to the Autobot cause. It serves as a principal diagnostic center, control center, surveillance through its control of the Sky Spy satellite, and database for the Autobots.
It was Teletraan I that revived all the Transformers, four million years after their arrival to earth, through holographic imaging of Earth vehicles and repair to their systems. The Decepticons were revived first, followed by the Autobots, thanks to Starscream's carelessness.
It is also a sort of running gag that Teletraan I is destroyed dramatically then repaired afterwards without much notice or difficulty.
Teletraan II was Teletraan I's replacement in the third season of G1, after the Ark and Teletraan I were destroyed by Trypticon (presumably this was due to the voice actor Casey Kasem leaving the series, Frank Welker became the voice of Teletraan II).
[edit] Transformers: Beast Wars
In this series, the Ark was found on Earth by Megatron, and Teletraan I was hijacked by Blackarachnia, who was able to download the access codes into her brain using the Golden Disk, stolen by Megatron.
It is an official yet not commonly known fact[citation needed] that the computer's name is spelled "Teletraan I" (with Roman numeral one). Misspellings are more commonly used than the true one; "Teletran One" or "Teletran-1" are the ones most frequently encountered (with the latter even making it into the "Ultimate Guide" book). The Beast Wars animated series mispronounced/spelled it as "Teletron One", until a correction by Rattrap to Blackarachnia in the final episode. Blackarachnia simply replied "What ever!"
