Telethon Institute for Child Health Research

Established in 1990 by former Australian of the Year Professor Fiona Stanley, the Telethon Institute of Child Health Research (ICHR, or TICHR) in Western Australia is a multidisciplinary paediatric research centre funded by TVW Telethon, and employing nearly 200 people.

[edit] Famous Studies
It is particularly famous for ground-breaking research in respiratory paediatrics and in aboriginal child health, a passion of Professor Stanley. It is the research hub for prominent scientists such as Patrick Holt, as well as the home of one of the largest paediatric studies, the Raine Study, which has been following the lives of thousands of children for decades.

It is located at 100 Roberts Road, Subiaco, Western Australia, opposite Princess Margaret Hospital for Children, a close affiliate. Other affiliate organisations of ICHR are the University of Western Australia Department of Paediatrics and TVW-7, after which it is named.
