Telecommunications Regulatory Authority

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Bahrain (TRA) was established by Legislative Decree No. 48 promulgating the Telecommunications Law (the "Law"). The TRA is an independent body and its duties and powers include, among other things, protecting the interests of subscribers and users and promoting effective and fair competition among existing and new licenced operators.

The TRA is required to carry out its duties and exercise its powers in a non-discriminatory and transparent manner. A board, appointed by the King on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, oversees the TRA, the day-to-day functioning of which vests in a General Director.
