with such a track record how can any one ask classical language status for telugu ??
By then both kannada & tamil were in their prime. Also there are't as many inscriptions as kannada & tamil. Despite many telugu speakers the telugu literature is no where compared to kannada,bengal,tamil. It clearly lacks depth & breadth that other great indian languages like kannada,tamil,bengal have.
There is no influence of telugu on any other language which shows that it is relatively new language compared to other old dravidian languages like kannada & tamil. Infact there is influence of kannada & tamil over telugu.
