Talk:Telcontar

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The article here reveals that there was a company named Telcontar, now deCarta, that interprets NAVTEQ's data and serves it to Google Maps, and maps programs for Yahoo.com and Ask.com. Its patented techniques are the reason these map applets are so fast. Considering all this, we should turn this redirect page into a disambiguation page, with two items:

  1. Telcontar is another name for the Lord of the Rings character Aragorn.
  2. Telcontar was the previous name of deCarta, a company which serves mapping data to Google Maps, Yahoo.com Maps, and various other clients.

I'm a Wiki newbie on redirects and disambigs, so over the upcoming week I'll check the wikihelp on how to do this. In the meantime, others are free to do so. Also, someone should write a deCarta article; as of this day it's redlinked. --205.201.141.146 17:23, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
