Tekkatho Phone Naing, real name Dr. Khin Mg. Tint, is a Burmese author. He received his Master's degree in Psychology from Columbia University. His novel Tha Ngè Gyin Lo Bè Set Ywei Khaw Myi Khaing (English: Will Continue to Call You as a Friend, Khine) was a popular work three decades ago. During the 1988 demonstrations against the government of Burma, he called for restraint and true democracy. After the military government seized power, however, he was forced to retire from his position as rector of the Institute of Education in Rangoon due to his connections with the demonstrators, however, his perfomance were being used by the current gov-affiliated film productions company in Burma.

His another famous novel is Thu Kyun Ma Khan Byi (Never be occupied race). This is a tale during the 1860s where the English tried to colonize Burma and natives tried to revolt against the occupying British forces by joining hands between Myanmar and Shan natives. But due to great differences in armour, they were forced to accept defeat at that moment. But the resistance will go on...

Another is "Th Byi Thu Ma Shwe Htar" (Ms Htar, who is now a foreigner), a love story of young people with difference in wealth. But only the guy realizes his love and the lady ignores him but accept as a bodyguard. Fate allows them to have a close moment together and have a child which he did not know. After many years later, he became a judge and in his court is his son, he did not know exists...
