Tejari (Arabic: تجاري. meaning: commercial). Established in June 2000 by Sheikha Lubna al Qasimi, Tejari is the Middle East’s premier e-commerce network, which has succeeded in becoming the number one hub for online trade for businesses and individuals in the UAE, the region and across emerging markets all over the world. And under its current CEO, Omar Hijazi, who is leading its rapid expansion plan, Tejari has become a unique brand in the industry.
Tejari is one of the most successful business units of Dubai World, the holding company that is famous for its huge portfolio of businesses and projects working towards the rapid economic growth of Dubai across a wide range of strategic industry segments—ranging from Nakheel’s unique real estate concepts; the iconic development of The Palm; DP World, the third largest port operator in the world; Tejari’s success in introducing e-commerce to the Middle East; to other segments as diverse as investments, leisure and financial services.
As its name means trade or commerce in local and several regional dialects, Tejari has accepted the mission of enabling e-commerce in the Middle East by providing a wide range of solutions, products and services catering to different business domains.
Tejari’s key objective is to continue to develop ways that will assist in maximizing the business potential of regional customers, providing them with innovative, reliable and versatile B2B and eMarketplace services to extend their reach and enhance their competitive standing in the new global economy. Also, Tejari is rapidly engaging with various partners to establish online trade communities as well as online B2C portals to lead the e-commerce revolution in the region.
By providing an online medium to connect, communicate and collaborate, Tejari creates substantial value for its customers, as it helps businesses realize the benefits of e-commerce by improving efficiency, reducing costs, developing new opportunities and ultimately managing a better business performance; all these values are achieved through Tejari’s services, which are divided into four lines of business.
Tejari Marketplace services address regional e-procurement needs through an advanced online marketplace with expert consultancy services that enables trading businesses to master the procurement best practices and locate new opportunities.
Tejari International services enable Tejari’s geographical expansion through franchising the Marketplace in emerging markets’ countries across three continents.

Tejari Ventures services focus on building web portals that transform traditional local and regional vertical markets with superior technologies that make possible a smart way to buy and sell to businesses and end-consumers. Tejari's first venture was Simsari, which is the region's first transactional real estate portal, a joint venture between Tejari, Nakheel, Tamweel, Dubai Properties, Surouh and Al Qudra.
Tejari enjoys a large base of trading partners that exceeds 77,000 organizations, which have negotiated more than 60,000 online auctions valued at over $4 billion.
