Teispes (Greek Τεΐσπης; Old Persian Jišpiš; died 640 BC[citation needed]) was the son of Achaemenes and a King of Persia. He captured the Elamite city of Anšan and called himself "King of the City of Anšan", a first step that would lead to the rise of the Persian Empire. He was succeeded by his grandson, Cyrus I of Anshan.
