Tehelka.com is an Indian online newspaper launched in 2000. It currently is a independent weekly newspaper[citation needed]. It began as an on line news/opinion portal, unaligned of any of India's established media groups.

An investigative piece by Tehelka in 2001 captured several members of the then ruling party BJP accepting bribes to approve defense contracts. George Fernandes resigned after the tapes were made public (See: Barak Missile Deal Scandal).
