Teddy Lo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Teddy Lo (Chinese: 羅揚文) is a Hong Kong-based visual artist known for his work in the "tech-art" scene. He studied advertising design at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where he began exploring the use of light-emitting diodes in art; he relocated to New York City after his graduation in 2002. Initially, he had hoped to enter the advertising industry, but due to the difficulty faced in finding work in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 attacks, he decided instead to continue to pursue art.[1] In 2003, Lo held his first solo art exhibition, Morphology, in New York.[2] He was named in Lighting magazine's "Who's Who of Lighting 2004", for his contribution to the lighting industry.[1] Since then, Lo has held solo exhibitions in various locations, including Russell Simmons' Art for Life in NYC, Luminale in Frankfurt and the 2006 National Day Singapore Expo at The Esplanade.[citation needed]
In addition to continuing his artistic pursuits, Lo is the founder and Executive Creative Director of Demiurge Unit, an LED experience design company.[citation needed]
