Teodoro Higuera Valenzuela (born November 9, 1958 in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico - ) was a pitcher with a 9 year MLB career from 1985-1991 and 1993-1994. He played his entire career with the Milwaukee Brewers of the American League.
Higuera was purchased by the Brewers in 1983 from Ciudad Juarez and was an immediate success at the Major League level for the Brewers (after one full year in the minor leagues), winning 53 games in his first three years. He was elected to the American League All-Star team in 1986 and was the Sporting New Rookie of the Year in 1985.
Higuera was plagued by injuries that affected his on field performance and missed the 1992 season with rotator cuff surgery. Higuera was paid over $3 Million per year for his final two years in the league, although he rarely played due to injuries. He left the Brewers and failed to make the San Diego Padres team in 1995, at which point he retired.
