Detective Sergeant Ted Roach is a character from the long running ITV drama The Bill. DS Roach was at Sun Hill from 1984 till 1993 serving nearly 10 years at the station. DS Roach resigned after an incident with Inspector Andrew Monroe in a pub, which resulted in a scuffle between the two. DS Roach then became a private detective and once again helped out at Sun Hill by assisting them with a murder case in 2000. Unfortunately, in September 2004, DS Roach was killed after a hit-and-run incident.
