Ted Dekker is a novelist currently under contract with Thomas Nelson. His fictional works include Black, Red, White, Thr3e, Blink, Showdown, Saint, Heaven's Wager, Obsessed,When Heaven Weeps, Thunder of Heaven, A Martyr's Song and the co-author of Blessed Child, A Man Called Blessed, and House. Dekker also wrote The Slumber of Christianity, a non-fiction work about misplaced values in the post-modern church.
The proliferation of Dekker's work is in large part due to the volume of writing he produces. It is not uncommon for Dekker's publisher to release three of his books in a single year. Though classified as Christian Fiction, Dekker's work often crosses genres, ranging from fantasy to horror.
Dekker, the son of missionaries John and Helen Dekker, was raised in Indonesia, where he lived on and off until he was nineteen; now he lives in Colorado with his wife and children. Before starting his career as an author, Dekker was director of marketing for a California-based medical company and went on to run a company with his brother selling adult diapers. The diaper company was very successful and sold over 6 million diapers their first year of business. Then, he became a professional juggler, professional name writer, and spent most of his time cranking pencil sharpeners or putting windows up and down. [1] Dekker wrote three entire novels before signing his first publishing deal.[2]
Like Stephen King, a lot of Dekker's novels are loosely connected to each other.

[edit] Writing Career
Dekker's first published novel was 2000's Blessed Child, co-authored with Bill Bright. This was quickly followed up with two more books the same year. By summer 2003, Dekker had six novels in print.
Dekker's breakout novel was his seventh book, 2003's Thr3e, a plot-driven thriller about Kevin Parsons, a seminary student who is taunted by a maniacal killer who taunts Kevin with phone calls and riddles before each attempt to kill him with explosive devices. Thr3e is the first of Dekker's works to be adapted into a movie, which saw theatrical release in January, 2007 and a DVD release of April, 2007. The movie's producer is Ralph Winter (X-Men and its sequels, Being Joe Goodman, Fantastic Four, along with Hangman's Curse and other Christian indie films).
In 2004, Dekker released the Circle Trilogy—Black, Red, and White. All three books in the trilogy were launched in the same year. The series tells the story of Thomas Hunter, a man who lives two different lives in two different realities. The story arc reflects a combination of suspense, political intrigue and C.S. Lewis-inspired, Christian analogy-infused worlds, with some influence from The Matrix as well.
The summer of 2005 brought the release of Dekker's first non-fiction work, The Slumber of Christianity: Awakening a Passion for Heaven on Earth. In early 2006 he released House, co-written with popular Christian novelist Frank Peretti). A film based on House is scheduled for release in September 2007[3].
In 2006, Dekker_also released Showdown and Saint, both of which loosely follow the Circle Trilogy. His next book, Skin, is scheduled for release in April 2007[4].
