[edit] Flagged

Your bot has been flagged. =Nichalp «Talk»= 05:35, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Subst vs subst vs subst

In this edit, your bot tries to subst a variable that is called "subst", since {{subst}} is one of the templates that should be subst'ed. I don't know whether this behavior has to do with calling that variable (?) "subst" (a bad name in that case) or with a general problem that your bot mistakes a {{{ variable for a {{ template call. Please have a look at this matter and make sure nothing bad happens. Thank you, Kusma (talk) 10:51, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

It's because the template "subst" is in the category "user warning templates", which is where the bot get its templates to subst. It doesn't seem to cause any effects though, so should I still change that? (changing that will not subst and of the subst templates also.) --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 11:21, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Well, it should subst {{subst}}, but not {{{{{subst|}}}}}, just like it should subst {{test}}, but not {{{{{test|}}}}}. Kusma (talk) 11:29, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bot running wild

Hi there, the bot has been running a little wild resulting into templates been incorrectly subst'ed resulting in {{helpme}} not been included in nowiki tabs, which as an obvious result, includes the template in the page and sets off a couple of notifications. I believe an admin has blocked the bot from editing, but can you please fix it? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by NigelJ (talkcontribs) 23:35, 30 March 2007 (UTC).

In the middle of it already. :) TeckWizBot 23:36, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Watch unicode

The bot seems to have trouble replacing unicode such as Jūryō. (See this edit for an example). Neier 23:55, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Here's another case where something went wrong (not unicode; but, mishandling of the & character, most likely. Neier 23:57, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] You have forgotten the class of warnings without page

I warned a user with {{uw-vandalism2}} , that is, without adding in the page the user had vandalized. (I was getting tired...) Anyhow, the result after your bot "fixed" my forgetting the {{subst}} is not very good. Here: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk%3A24.126.93.174&diff=119765390&oldid=119760698 . It seems your bot fails on this type of warning every time: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:124.43.228.238&diff=prev&oldid=119765337 . I know it's a good idea to add the page, but the bot should be able to handle this big class of cases. Greswik 20:39, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

I've already submitted a bug report to AWB on this. It only happens when no parameter is specified. It substs those warnings fine if the article parameter is provided. This actually isn't the fault of the bot. When you use the "subst=subst:" hack (which you're supposed to use), it breaks it, so you have to use regular substing if no parameter is specified. I've asked AWB is they can make it recognize if a parameter is provided. --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@(Lets go Yankees!) 01:36, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Subst not working quite right for article names

Your bot just subst'ed a bunch of my uw-vandalism messages, but the article titles did not get filled-in in the boilerplate correctly. Matt Gies 21:49, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

This is current bug, not just for AWB, but for MediaWiki. The same happens in manually substing. If no parameter is specified, that regular subst must be used, not subst=subst:. I have submitted this problem to AWB to see if they can make it so that it can recognize which to use. --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@(Lets go Yankees!) 02:07, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Messing up my discussion page

Twice I've had to undo damage this thing has done to my discussion page. Macduff 15:31, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

What is it messing up? I don't see anything wrong in my bot's revisions. --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@(Lets go Yankees!) 17:06, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
