Tech Mahindra Ltd. (TechM) formerly known as Mahindra British Telecom (MBT) is a joint venture between Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (M&M) and British Telecommunications plc (BT), UK with M&M holding 57% and BT holding 43% of the equity. Tech Mahindra has its headquarters at Pune, India. Tech Mahindra commenced operations as a Software Services company in 1988 and focuses on providing services to the global telecom industry.Today it is the leading telecom solution provider in India.Tech Mahindra Limited (formerly known as Mahindra-British Telecom Limited) is the global leader in providing end-to-end IT services and solutions to the Telecom industry. The number of clients increased as of Q3 FY 07 were 78 and Tech Mahindra's total headcount as of Q3 FY 07 was at 17,774 .The company derives 19%, 73 % and 8% of its revenues in the current revenues from the US, Europe and ROW regions respectively.
Since 1988, Tech Mahindra has grown with 7 development centers, 12 regional offices across 5 continents. Tech Mahindra has seven state-of-the-art software development centers - one in the United Kingdom (Milton Keynes) and six in India (Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata & Noida).

Tech Mahindra recently forayed into the public domain by releasing their IPO to fund their expansion plans. The IPO was an instant winner with 72 times over subscription and a listing gain of above 50%. The IPO has been one of the best in the current financial year with share price touching Rs.1999 from initial offering of Rs.365 within a span of 4 months.

On 18th January, 2007 Tech Mahindra entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Noida based iPolicy Networks Private Limited ("iPolicy"). This acquisition would be complementary to Tech Mahindra’s strong security services capabilities.
iPolicy provides next-generation, carrier-grade integrated network security solutions for enterprise and service provider customers. iPolicy’ capabilities enhance Tech Mahindra's security service offerings and enabling it to offer end to end security services to its customers; encompassing security consulting services, network security products and managed security services from its security operations centre.

Recently Tech Mahindra bagged a $1 billion deal from BT, making it the biggest IT deal ever by any Indian software company. The deal mainly lists the provision of IT services by Tech Mahindra to BT over a span of 5 years. Also Tech Mahindra is rapidly increasing its non-BT customer base by acquiring various deals from telecom vendors across the globe. The revenues of the company are believed to double in a short span of time.

Tech Mahindra continues to be endorsed as a thought leader in telecom industry. Frost & Sullivan awards which recognize outstanding global industry achievements, awarded Tech Mahindra the ‘Vertical Market Penetration Leadership Award in Telecom Vertical for 2006' and the 'Market Leadership Award for Offshore Security Consulting for Next Generation Network and Applications for 2006'

Upcoming Campus at Hinjewadi
- At the Hinjewadi Special Economic Zone in Pune
- An Integrated software development and residential complex
- Spread over 25 acres, the new state-of-the-art campus will be capable of housing more than 18,000 software engineers and will include training centres, food courts, and a sports complex.
- An additional one million sq. ft. of residential space will have a self-contained residential park consisting of over 300 apartments and 100 row houses
Residents of the campus will benefit from a great balance of work and quality of life including affordable housing, significantly reduced commute time, and a pollution free environment.
