"Teardrop" is a song by Massive Attack which was first released on their 1998 album Mezzanine. It was released as a single on April 21, 1998.
The original version of the song features vocals by Elizabeth Fraser (of the Cocteau Twins). "Teardrop" had a memorable music video which featured animations of a fetus in the womb lip-syncing the song.
An instrumental version of "Teardrop" serves as the theme song for the American version of House, a medical television series starring Hugh Laurie. The song opens with a bass drum beat that is reminiscent of a heartbeat, lending itself easily to the show's medical theme. The instrumental version was also featured on the TV series Prison Break, in the episode "Tonight," during a scene that contained brief flashbacks of the reason each of the primary characters wanted to escape. It was also used in the Cold Case episode "Sanctuary" and the CSI: Miami episode "MIA/NYC Non-Stop".

The 12" release contains the same songs but in a different order. The cassette release contains an edited version of the original song, as well as the Scream Team remix and the b-side Euro Zero Zero, but is missing the remix by Mad Professor Mazaruni.
