Teacups

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Teacups are an amusement ride that have a rotating floor. Each set of teacups has a circular floor, or a motor that will turn 360 degrees. If there are 12 teacups, usually there will be 4 rotating floors or 4 motors. There is also a major floor or motor that connects to the circular floors. This spins the whole ride in motion with each rotating floor/motor also spinning.

Each teacup can individually be spun by the riders. Usually, there is a wheel in order for the riders to spin the teacup. Some tea cup rides have looser wheels to spin while others are harder to spin. Most teacup rides have a tea kettle in the middle of the ride.

[edit] Seats

Some teacup rides have 12 teacups while other might have 24. Yet, there is a smaller teacups ride built by Zamperla called Mini Teacups that only have 6 teacups. Each teacup can usually fit up to 4 people.

There are some different rides out there that are not teacups, but are exactly the same ride. For instance, at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, they have a ride that is themed to Billard Balls called the Hustler. That ride is made by Morgan. Another ride is the Snowballs that were located at Santa's Village Amusement Park in IL. The park has now been closed down, and the ride is supposed to move somewhere else.
