Teach Yourself

Teach Yourself is a company that helps people learn a wide variety of subjects, ranging from philosophy to photography. However, the series is most famous for helping people learn languages.
The books are usually small and uniform in shape. Most titles, especially older ones, are covered with a distinctive yellow and blue dust jacket.
The first Teach Yourself book was published in 1938 and the series contained just four titles. Most titles published during the Second World War were aimed at helping the British nation survive as well as improving knowledge in the subjects that would improve the war effort.
The company now specialises in self-learning courses through books, records, cassettes, compact discs, and multimedia.
