I came across a page - Synermaxx - which appears to be an advert. I have no idea how to deal with this. Advice assistance please?

You can tag advertisement-like pages with {{advertisement}} and/or {{prod}} them for deletion. You can also tag them for speedy deletion if they satisfy the criteria.—WAvegetarian(talk) 10:08, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
It was a copyright violation (cut and paste) from the company's website. I've marked it for speedy deletion. If you come across something that looks like an advert, it is usually copyvio. WP:COPY gives you all the details on how to handle suspected copyright violations. If you check and can't find a source web page, it might be original wording but still an advert. In that case, check to see if the company meets WP:CORP or WP:WEB criteria. If it does, then the company is notable and the article should stay, although it might need some work to tone down the ad-speak. If the company doesn't meet the appropriate criteria for notability and the article isn't blatant copyvio, then you can list the article for deletion at WP:AfD. I know that's a lot to digest all at once, but once you've gone through that process a few times it becomes second nature and quite fast. Thank you for pointing out that article. Happy editing!
