TBGE (Drinking Game)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A drinking game that involves three players with three die each. Created and tested by K. Hughes, A. Møller, and C. Tadeu, in the small town of Pichilemu (Chile), the game is slowly increasing in popularity and following (especially among highschool students). Its name originates for lack of a better name and as the intoxication of the creators increased with passing time, all three of the creators agreed that it was in fact "The Best Game Ever", and that it would be a suitable name.

[edit] Rules of Etiquette

Before the game begins the rules of etiquette must be gone over and explained to each individual player.

1. Each player must consume their drink with their off-hand. (Thus a right handed person would drink with their left and vice versa) If this rule is forgotten at any point of the game, a one gulp penalty is enforced.

2. Whenever a die is dropped by mistake (either the die is dropped while shaking, or the die rolls off the edge) a one gulp penalty is enforced.

3. If one finds themself drinking Smirnoff Ice, Malibu, Beer or any drink that lacks "punch" (or a level of toughness determined by the surrounding players) then one must double ones amount of consumption.

[edit] Fundamental Rules

Each of the players (3) will roll their three die at the same time.

Whenever a pair is rolled, the player will choose one other player to consume one gulp. If a pair is rolled with a high six, the player chooses one other player to consume two gulps. For example, if a 3, 3, and 6 is rolled by a player, he or she may choose one other player to take two gulps. And if a pair is rolled with a low one then the player that rolled the die must consume two gulps.

Whenever three of a kind is rolled by a player, he or she may choose one other player to consume three gulps. If a player rolls a 6, 6, and a 6, an override is enforced and all players must consume half of their glasses.

When a run is rolled by a player, (1, 2, 3 - 2, 3, 4 - etc) the player must choose another player to take two gulps. When two of the three players roll coherent runs -that is if player 1 rolls a 1, 2, 3, and player 2 rolls a 4, 5, 6- then player 3 must consume half of their glass (idea by C. Maiworm).

If every player rolls three 6's then all three players must consume everything on the table at that moment (even unopened bottles).

[edit] Overrides and Suicides

Whenever all players have rolled their die and no pair, three of a kind, or run has arisen, then all players must consume half of their glasses.

Suicides play an important part in the game, making the player drink in accordance with what they themselves have rolled. If one 1, two 2s, or three 3s have been rolled by the player, then they themselves must consume. The rule of suicides overrides any other rule; so if for example player 1 rolls a 1, 6, and a 6, then player 1 does not choose another player to consume but player 1 must consume one gulp.

If two 2s have been rolled, then two gulps must be consumed. If three 3s have been rolled then three gulps must be consumed. In the occurrence that a player rolls a 1, 2, and a 2, then the player must drink three gulps because the suicides stack (triple suicide).

[edit] Teams

When the group playing The Best Game Ever is more than three persons, then bystanders can effectively "latch on" to a player that is active. This means that the person(s) latched on to a player must drink the same amount and undergo the same penalties as the player to whom they are teamed up with. If the active player allows, his or her teammate(s) may take turns with the player rolling the die and choosing which of the opposing players must drink.

"Tag-teaming" is another allowable move by an active player. If a player chooses to tag-team a bystander, the bystander then becomes the active player and the once active player is now a bystander. Tag-teaming can not be turned down by a bystander, it can only be passed on after one round. It may not be passed back to the once active player by whoever he or she chose to tag-team.

[edit] Effect

If played for effectively and properly for sufficient time, "The Best Game Ever" should ensure the inebriety of all persons involved. Note: one must be aware that "The Best Game Ever" moves along extremely fast and the players find themselves having to buy more drinks very quickly if they do not have a large enough cache of alcohol.
