Taurisano

Taurisano is a town and comune in the Italian province of Lecce in the Apulia region of south-east Italy.
The town's coordinates are: latitude: 39° 57′ 0′′ N and longitude: 18° 10′ 0′′ E [1].
At the end of 2004, the population of the Province of Lecce was 12,485. The area of the town is 23 square kilometers. Its altitude above sea level is 110 meters. Nearby towns are Acquarica del Capo, Casarano, Ruffano and Ugento.
The town's patron saint is Saint Stephen whose feast day is December 26. The town of Taurisano is the place of birth of the philosopher Lucilio Vanini, also known as Giulio Cesare Vanini.
