Taughmaconnell

Taughmaconnell is a village in Ireland, between Athlone and Ballinasloe.
The birth place of Saints and scholars. The majority of people work hard on the land at a mixture of cattle and sheep. Ballinasloe is approx. 5 miles and Athlone is approx 6 miles. St Ronans well lies in the middle of the parish and hosts an annual mass. McHughs tavern is the local pub and Costelloes shop and now post office lie in the centre of the parish beside the church. There is a heap of villages the spread out in all directions.
The lovely smell of turf fires and fermenting silage and the sounds of cattle and tractors make this parish a truly special and tranquil place.
