Task Force 1942: Surface Naval Action in the South Pacific was a PC game.

The box which contains this game says that the game was designed by MPS Labs. The box also says "1992 MicroProse Software, Inc. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED".

This game was a surface naval simulation which allowed the player to operate single ships or a task force made up of some number of ships. It was designed to run under PC-DOS or MS-DOS, version 5.0 or higher.

The box contains five 3 1/2" high desinty floppy disks. It also contains a 100 page Task Force 1942 identification book which has a silhouette picture of each Japanese or American ship that you can operate with its class, maximum speed, dimensions, displacement, fuel capacity and armament. There was also a 76 page user manual.
