In 2004, Choice served as a back-up to Adrian Peterson, a Heisman finalist that year. He only took twenty-two carries that year, all in two games, giving him 100 rushing yards altogether. He transfered to Georgia Tech after the year was done.

Even with Tech, Choice played a back-up role, but he had more of an impact in 2005, rushing for 513 yards, second on the team. Also, his six touchdowns were tied for the team lead. He had notable two-touchdown games against Duke and Connecticut, rushing for 107 and 89 yards, respectively. Choice was named to the ACC Academic Honor roll at the end of the season.

Finally a starter, Choice had a breakout year, leading the ACC in rushing with 1,473 yards. He scored twelve touchdowns, with 100-yard regular season performances against Virginia Tech, Maryland, Miami, North Carolina, Duke, and Georgia. His efforts played a key role in the Yellow Jackets' season, as they were able to make it to the ACC Championship game. Despite a 100-yard game from Choice, Tech fell short and wound up in the Gator Bowl vs West Virginia, where he rushed for a career-high 169 yards, despite a 38-35 loss. He was elected onto ESPN's all-bowl team and was voted second team all-ACC.
