TASCAM

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

TASCAM is credited as the company that invented the Portastudio, the first cassette-based multi-track home studio recorder. People often refer to any brand of 4-track cassette recorders as a "portastudio" although this term is "owned" by TASCAM. In the 1970's and 1980's TASCASM is one of four divisions of Teac Corporation, headquartered in Japan.

Today TASCAM produces GigaStudio, a software sampler. It also continues to supply a variety of continually updated products for sound recording and production.
